Start with one area and a manageable route, then add the experiences that interest you most.

A first sightseeing plan for Los Cabos

For a first visit to Los Cabos, choose a place to begin rather than trying to cover the whole destination in one day. Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo offer different starting points, and travel between them takes time you could otherwise spend exploring.

Begin with one town

In Cabo San Lucas, a walk around the marina can be a useful introduction. If seeing El Arco is a priority, compare the boat options separately and check the departure point, duration and conditions. A marina walk does not itself include a trip to Land's End.

In San José del Cabo, begin around the main square and historic center. You can combine the surrounding gallery streets with a church visit or a meal, allowing time to pause wherever something interests you.

Choose what to add

Pick one experience that matters to your group instead of stacking several tightly timed reservations. A guided outing can help with context and logistics; an independent walk gives you more control over the pace.

Before booking a combined tour, read the inclusions carefully. A destination description is not a promise that every boat trip, meal or attraction is included.

Give the day some space

Plan for heat, shade, comfortable shoes and drinking water. Check access and walking distances if anyone has mobility requirements. Arrange your return before leaving your accommodation and keep the address saved on your phone.

A good first day leaves you with a clearer sense of the place and ideas for what to explore next. It does not need to include every landmark.
